A stage greeting commemorating the blockbuster success of“Teki Cometh,” a film planned and produced by Geek Pictures, was held at Theatre Shinjuku on Saturday, February 15.
After the screening, to a packed house that erupted in applause, the two stars of the film, Kyozo Nagatsuka, Asuka Kurosawa, and director Daihachi Yoshida, took the stage to thank the audience.

Featuring 77-year-old former university professor Gisuke Watanabe as the main character, “Teki Cometh” depicts the fears, joys, and hilarity of people living toward the end of their lives.
The film has become one of the most watched films in the world, winning three awards at the 37th Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) last year for the first time in 19 years, and was nominated in six categories at the 18th Asian Film Awards (AFA).

When asked about the response to the film, about a month after its release on January 17, Director Yoshida replied, “People of my generation and my classmates have sent me enthusiastic feedback, and although they are younger than Gisuke (people my age), there are many parts that touch on things that each of us usually thinks about or tries not to think about. I guess.” He also said, “I hope that the screening will continue until the end of the year, when winter will come again, and that I will be able to greet the audience again. I think it's okay to have that kind of desire.”

The movie “Teki Cometh”is now playing at Theatre Shinjuku and other theaters nationwide. Please come to the theater.
