TERÁN himself came to Japan for the event, and in addition to the talk show, he also performed live painting.
He said, “I want people to know how I usually start painting. This is not a painting class, so please feel free to ask questions and enjoy the show. ”and, he showed the whole process of his creation for an hour and a half in a calm atmosphere.
◾️ Exhibition Outline
“If Pablo Picasso walked in the Edo period, the time of Katsushika Hokusai, ......?”
The exhibition presents a fantastical world in which Picasso, as an imaginary traveler, encounters the landscapes and people depicted by Hokusai and engages in a dialogue that transcends time and space. Picasso's work incorporates the flowing lines and bold compositions of ukiyo-e prints, and is a new attempt to fuse Japanese tradition with his own style. In his work, Picasso interacts with symbolic motifs, challenges the waves, plays at the foot of Fuji, and flirts with the sensuality of Shunga. Different eras and cultures intersect to create new forms of creation.
With a background in Venetian school techniques, TERÁN has been highly acclaimed in Spain and abroad for his series “Tribute to the Geniuses,” a unique reinterpretation of the works of masters such as Picasso, Fontana, and Chagall. In this solo exhibition, TERÁN will present a newly created body of work, further deepening the unique style he has developed.
TERÁN's “Pop Realism” intermingles exquisite realism with the dynamism of Pop Art, creating a unique world where tradition and innovation coexist.
This exhibition is an attempt to demonstrate that art continues to engage in a dialogue that transcends time and culture, evoking the imagination that is needed in this day and age, and presenting new creative possibilities.
We invite you to take this opportunity to experience TERÁN's art, which transcends the boundaries of expression, and his works, which will be shown for the first time in Japan.
