“GEEK PICTURES Pop-up Gallery” to Be Held in Cannes, France: Producing an Experiential Space That Blends Japanese Culture with the Latest Technology
At SENS Restaurant Cannes in Cannes, France—the host city of the Cannes Lions, one of the world’s largest advertising festivals—
we held the “GEEK PICTURES Pop-up Gallery” over two days on Wednesday, June 24, and Thursday, June 25.
The event featured a diverse range of content, including video works produced by GEEK PICTURES, as well as art, music, and the latest technologies such as generative AI.
We handled everything from planning and content creation to the venue’s spatial design and operations, creating a space where new connections could form through the experience.
┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈
In addition to our core business of video production, we have recently expanded into a wide range of IP content ventures, including events, art, anime, characters, web comics, and music. To showcase this expansion of our creative scope both domestically and internationally—and to serve as a platform for delivering the new possibilities in entertainment that Geek Pictures envisions to the world—we have opened this gallery at the venue of “Cannes Lions,” one of the world’s largest advertising festivals.
On the day of the opening, we welcomed a large number of visitors from Japan and abroad, including Cannes Lions attendees, professionals from the advertising and creative industries, and creators. The event attracted a diverse range of attendees—from those enjoying the exhibits and interactive experiences to representatives from overseas companies considering expansion into the Japanese market, local journalists, and guests at the restaurant hosting the event—fostering numerous exchanges that transcended national borders and industry sectors.
Moving forward, Geek Pictures will continue to leverage the production expertise we’ve cultivated through video production to create new forms of expression and experiences that fuse cutting-edge technologies—including generative AI—with creativity, while continuing to share unique, Japan-born creativity with the world.
