Geek Pictures and Indian Ambassador to Japan, H.E. Mr. Sibi George, shake hands for further development of entertainment in Japan and India
Tamotsu Kosano, President and CEO of Geek Pictures, Inc. and Ambassador Sibi George of the Republic of India held a cultural exchange with the aim of further developing animation, art, and other entertainment content in both Japan and India. As part of these activities, the Ambassador visited “HOKUSAI : ANOTHER STORY in TOKYO,” an immersive art experience based on the Edo period ukiyoe depicted by Katsushika Hokusai, in which MHI is a member of the production committee.
In recent years, we have expanded our business beyond video production in Japan to include animation and art, both domestically and internationally. 2019 will see the establishment of our Indian subsidiary, Geek Pictures Pvt. Ltd. In 2019, we established an Indian subsidiary, Geek Pictures Pvt. Ltd. We have invited Indian artists to Japan and participated in “India Art Fair 2024/2025” and “Art Mumbai 2024” held in India, introducing and disseminating Japanese and other artists who are active in the world. In addition, we are actively promoting Japanese entertainment contents to the world, such as the joint production of Japanese-Indian animated film “Ramayana: The Biography of King Rama” ⒸTEM, which was the largest scale screening of a Japanese film in India.

Ambassador Shivi George of the Republic of India and his family members who experienced “HOKUSAI : ANOTHER STORY in TOKYO” showed great interest in Japan's unique art culture, and were eager to visit the booth and ask questions. At the end of the exhibition, they shook hands enthusiastically with our representative and expressed their hope that this exhibition would be enjoyed around the world and passed down from generation to generation.
