The premiere advance screening of the movie of the movie “Teki Cometh,”planned and produced by Geek Pictures, was held at Theatre Shinjuku on Wednesday, December 11, with a stage greeting.
Kyozo Nagatsuka, who played the lead role, Kumi Takiuchi, Yumi Kawai, Asuka Kurosawa, and director Daihachi Yoshida gathered to talk about their thoughts on the film.
Based on the novel of the same title by Yasutaka Tsutsui, a giant of Japanese literature, the film depicts the horror, joy, and humor of people living toward the end of their lives, featuring Gisuke Watanabe, a 77-year-old former university professor who is widowed and lives in a Japanese house that has been his grandfather's home for generations.
Kyozo Nagatsuka, who will be starring in a film for the first time in 12 years, said of the film, “I have been an actor for 50 years, but seeing myself and hearing my own voice moved me for the first time. Maybe it is because I am of the same generation as the main character, but it touched my heart. When the film won the triple crown at the Tokyo International Film Festival, “the director and I jumped up and down together,” he said.
“Teki Cometh”will be released in theaters nationwide from January 17, 2025. Please look forward to it.
