“Teki Cometh” was nominated for the most number of Japanese films in six categories at the 18th Asian Film Awards!

We are pleased to announce that “Teki Cometh”, a film designed and produced by Geek Pictures, has been nominated for 6 awards including “Best Film”, “Best Director”, “Best Actor”, “Best Supporting Actress”, “Best Cinematography” and “Best Costume Design”, the most for a Japanese film, at the 18th Asian Film Awards. The award ceremony will be held in Hong Kong on March 16th (Sunday) and the award winners will be announced from among the total 30 nominated films.

Asian Film Awards (AFA) was established in 2007 to promote the Asian film industry. In the past, the awards have been presented to leading Asian films in recent years, including Hirokazu Kore-eda's “Shoplifters” (18), Pon Joon-ho's “Parasite” (19), Kiyoshi Kurosawa's “The Spy's Wife” (20), and Yuusuke Hamagata's “Drive My Car” (21) and “Evil Does Not Exist” (23).

On January 10th (Friday), 2025, the nominees for the 18th AFA Awards were announced, and “Teki Cometh”, a film planned and produced by our company, was nominated in 6 categories. In addition to the “Best Film” award, the film was nominated for the “Best Director” award by director Daihachi Yoshida, “Best Actor” by Kyozo Nagatsuka, “Best Supporting Performance by a Female Actor” by Kumi Takiuchi, “Best Cinematography” by Hidetoshi Shinomiya, and “Best Costume Design” by Mari Miyamoto, all of whom are certified by their respective departments.
