GEEK PICTURES-Produced Documentary Before Their Names Are Forgotten to Premiere at Toranomon Advertising Festival
We are pleased to announce that Before Their Names Are Forgotten, a documentary produced by GEEK PICTURES, will premiere at the Toranomon Advertising Festival, taking place over nine days from Friday, October 9 to Saturday, October 17, 2026.
Television commercials have played a significant role in Japan's economic development while establishing a unique culture of creative expression.
However, the names and achievements of the creators behind countless memorable commercials are gradually fading from memory as time passes.
Through interviews with the creators of that era and rare archival commercial footage, the documentary traces the origins of Japanese advertising creativity and the legacy of those who helped shape it, focusing on the project's initiators, Akira Odagiri and Akira Kagami.
To preserve not only the works themselves, but also the names of the people who created them.
Before Their Names Are Forgotten is a documentary dedicated to preserving the history of Japanese advertising for future generations.
We invite you to experience this important piece of advertising history at the festival.
